Health Coaching:
Behavioral & Lifestyle Change
There comes a time in our lives where we will have to make adjustments to our lifestyle due to a change in circumstances. Whether it be trying to stay healthy despite a demanding work schedule, adopting a new dietary or prescription regiment to address a new health concern or diagnosis, or simply the desire to change any one thing in your life that may just make you feel happier and healthier.
Because when it comes to lifestyle and behavioral change, the goal is to get us closer to wellness as a whole and allow us to feel more in control of our health and happiness as individuals.
We are all different, and that is a beautiful thing. There are many people in the Health Care industry who care. However, not all professionals have the time to spend with each individual on preparing a plan to make these changes. They may not possess the ability to collaborate with you in a way that will give you the best chance at succeeding in that plan.
This is when a certified Health Coach (certification from NCAA) is most valuable. A true and qualified Health Coach should have their clients' needs in mind while having the necessary skills to help you arrive at what you want to address and achieve most, as opposed to having a predetermined visual of what your life and body should look like and instructing you on how you should do that.
On an end note, when you are looking to really make a change and seek information to allow you to do so, it is important that you find someone that will give you a feeling of confidentiality; a safe space to allow you to be open and ready to really evaluate how you want to improve yourself as a whole person, and what you are able and willing to do as well as identify what is needed in order to achieve those goals. Always trust your gut when choosing what is right for you.
